Dianne Danowski Smith has worked in healthcare in Oregon for over two decades to promote and increase access to healthcare services for the un- and under-insured in our communities. In 1998 Joe Ichter, in partnership with the Santa Fe County Medical Society, founded the 8th Project Access program in the United States, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In conjunction with his work in Family and Community Medicine at the University of New Mexico, he served as its Executive Director until 2007. Marie Napolitano has been caring for the indigent, migrant population of Oregon for more than 25 years. Until 2010, she primarily traveled to provide migrant healthcare in Virginia Garcia Medical Center’s mobile health van.
