Indications for Specialty Care Referral

Prior to being evaluated for Reduction Mammoplasty all patients, both military and family members, must meet the following criteria:

Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30.0 or less. BMI = weight (kg)/height (m) 2

No Smoking: Must be a nonsmoker for a minimum of three (3) months.

Bra size of D cup or greater

Must have more than 90 days remaining in local area (prior to PCS, ETS, moving, etc.).

Please be sure that your consult includes the patient’s height/weight, smoking status, and PCS/ETS date (if applicable).

Criteria for Return to Primary Care

After alleviation of symptoms and the appropriate follow-ups with Plastic Surgery, the patient should be returned to their respective primary care provider.
