James Harker

James Harker joined Providence Health & Services in 2001. Prior to joining PH&S, he worked in strategic planning, facilitation and project management as a manager with Arthur Andersen.  Mr. Harker has been responsible for development and implementation of the PH&S-Oregon strategic plan and the transition to population health management. His teams developed individual entity and service area strategic and operating plans in support of regional priorities.  He was also responsible for prioritization, resourcing and tracking of those priorities through portfolio and project management, process engineering and change management teams.  He has also helped develop new partnerships for Providence.  He was privileged to participate in building global ministries for Providence and has actively participated in that work.  He currently focuses on implementing integrated population health models, including both financial and care model transformation, with special concern for vulnerable and underrepresented communities.

 

Active in his local community, Mr. Harker holds Masters degrees from the University of Washington in Health Administration and in Business Administration.
