Dan joined REACH in May 2013, with over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector. His previous role was Executive Director of Chicago Commons, a 100+ year old settlement house organization providing educational and human services serving Chicago neighborhoods. At Chicago Commons, Dan led a strategic turnaround of the organization during a period of financial instability.
He was a co-founder of the Back Office Cooperative (BOC), a consortium of Chicago non-profits that consolidated administrative services and achieved significant cost-savings and continues to operate today. Dan served as the second Board Chair of BOC for three years.
Dan’s interest in community-based health care and access grew significantly during his service as a Board Member for Near North Health Services, a federally qualified health center serving the West and South sides of Chicago with an historical focus on serving majority African-American communities.
